Howdy and welcome to The Epicurean Engineer, a blog that chronicles my adventures being a foodie.
I will cover any and all topics related to being an amateur gourmand, including: food, drink, recipes, and experiences. Additionally, as a professional engineer, I will add a splash of engineering when and where it's applicable. Why? Just because I can.
So what is an Epicurean Engineer?
First the easy part, I'm obviously an engineer. Second, it's a very convenient alliteration (Whoa! Don't worry, the irony is not lost on me and this engineer just used up his lifetime capacity of literary stylistic devices). Lastly, I'd like to think of myself an epicure or one devoted to the pursuit and enjoyment of good food and drink.
Now for those out there that know me, you might be thinking that I already have a food blog? You are correct. Real Men Bake was my first attempt at this whole blog thing and was fun until life got in the way and I stopped posting. You can think of The Epicurean Engineer as the reincarnation of Real Men Bake. Now why didn't I just resume Real Men Bake? I learned a lot about how I wanted to blog and felt I needed to change my format slightly. I will keep the website up for posterity sake as well as port over my recipes to the Epicurean Engineer.
This blog is really for me to keep track of my culinary experiences. Whether you read it or not, I don't really care. But if you do, I hope you enjoy the blog. Try some new recipes, try some things out of your comfort zone, you'll be surprised what is out there. Food is a very personal experience and each person has their own tastes and I'd love to hear your comments on anything I post.
That's it for now, bon appetit!
-Pat
